Coaching included! Apply Now to Take Part in the Jacobs Startup Competition
It is one of the largest competitions for student entrepreneurs and a step stone for start-ups: Applications to participate in the student-organized competition at Jacobs University Bremen are open until December 4, 2022. Wanted are the most sustainable innovative business ideas.
The application window opened just in time for Bremen’s Startup Weeks – three weeks dedicated to supporting the entrepreneurial spirit in Bremen. What does the Jacobs Startup Competition entail? "We not only offer participants the opportunity to present their ideas, we also connect them with many experts from the startup world- be it investors, mentors, industry professionals or even other students,” said Oscar Kirkwood, who is the main student organizer of the event together with Thea Mischel. In workshops, webinars and through coaching sessions, the teams can further develop their ideas over the course of the competition. "This comprehensive support sets the Jacobs Startup Competition apart from other competitions in Europe," Kirkwood said.
There are no requirements for the topics. The prerequisite for participation is that half of the team must be enrolled as bachelor's or master's students at a university. Last year, around 110 start-ups from 35 countries took part in the Jacobs Startup Competition. Ten teams will qualify through several elimination rounds for the finals, which will be held in Bremen from March 16 to 18, 2023.
