The students will join the winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences (2007), Professor Eric Maskin, and the winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1991), Professor Richard R. Ernst, to look for solutions to the social consequences of climate change. The debate will be chaired by Nadine Dereza. With a background as a reporter for the BBC and CNN, she was named Financial Journalist of the Year whilst working as London Business Correspondent for Summit TV.
Further panellists will include Ulrich Bremi, former business leader and Speaker of the Swiss National Council (1990/91), Dr. Hans R. Herren, winner of the World Food Prize (1995) and the Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement (2003), as well as Professor Sir Brian Hoskins, Director of the Grantham Institute for Climate Change. The public panel discussion will be opened by Economic Nobel Prize winner Eric Maskin with a lecture on the design of climate change treaties.
