ESMT offers four scholarships for women in leadership positions
- Modular executive education programs for women in positions of responsibility
- Application deadline on June 30, 2014
ESMT European School of Management and Technology awards for the second time a total of four scholarships each valued at 17,500 EUR for women in leadership positions. Two partial scholarships are available for the Executive Transition Program starting in October 2014, which is held in English, and two full scholarships for the German-speaking General Management Seminar, which begins in September 2014.
The scholarships are for experienced female leaders who have demonstrated entrepreneurial initiative in the course of their careers and who can demonstrate tangible results in their areas of responsibility.
“For me, the combination of theoretical analysis and practical implementation was especially important,” said Kirsten Kaup, Executive Transition Program scholar of 2013. “The international exchange between participants from different sectors has inspired me. Those who want to grow professionally and personally are the right candidates to apply for the scholarships.”
Prof. Olaf Plötner, Dean of Executive Education at ESMT, commented, “After the very positive experiences of last year, we are happy to again support outstanding candidates in achieving their professional goals. For us, it is important to bring together talents with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.”
Both programs are designed for managers who plan to or have already taken on a senior executive position. The Executive Transition Program takes place in Berlin and Schloss Gracht, and is taught in three modules of ten days each between October 2014 and June 2015. The first module provides a foundation for function-oriented management skills, while the second module focuses on cross-functional aspects and includes a stay in Brussels to explore the influence of European institutions on corporate governance and investment opportunities. The third session focuses on putting leadership into action and on the application of acquired knowledge in different contexts.
The General Management Seminar is made up of three one-week modules, which take place from September to November 2014 in Schloss Gracht near Cologne. Areas of focus include strategic and value-oriented management, leadership and change management, among others.
The scholarships for the General Management Seminar cover full tuition costs, including educational materials and meals on campus, while the Executive Transition Program scholarships comprise almost two-thirds of the total costs. Candidates must apply by June 30, 2014, sending a cover letter with a completed application form, a CV, and a statement of motivation and qualification for the scholarship via e-mail.
