IATUL Conference 2015: Aija Janbicka wins Irmgard Lankenau Poster Prize
Some 200 decision-makers from the field of librarianship gathered in Hannover
Aija Janbicka from the Riga Technical University (RTU) Scientific Library in Riga (Latvia) won the Irmgard Lankenau Poster Prize for the best poster at the 36th Annual IATUL Conference 2015. Her poster, entitled "LATABA – representative office of academic and scientific libraries in Latvia" and created in collaboration with ten Latvian scientific libraries in the Association of Academic Libraries of Latvia (LATABA), was able to convince the jury. The Irmgard Lankenau Poster Prize, awarded by the International Association of University Libraries (IATUL), is worth € 500.
The German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) hosted the English-language IATUL conference in Hannover from 5 to 9 July 2015. Some 200 experts and decision-makers from libraries gathered at this year’s conference. In keeping with the motto “Strategic Partnerships for Access and Discovery”, the conference enabled colleagues from a total of 42 countries to engage in exchange on current and future developments in the area of strategy, management and practice in libraries. In addition to numerous talks, the IATUL conference featured exciting sessions, as well as a poster and a company exhibition.
The 37th Annual IATUL Conference 2016 will be hosted by Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada from 5 to 9 June 2016. The motto will be “Library Leadership in a Sea of Change: At the Bowsprit of Service”.
