Strategic partnership between TIB and VZG for digital preservation
TIB and VZG pool services in the area of digital preservation
HANNOVER, 11 March 2016 – As part of a strategic partnership, the German National Library of Science and Technology (TIB) and the Head Office of the Common Library Network (VZG) have agreed to pool their services in the area of digital preservation. VZG will offer TIB’s digital preservation services to GBV member libraries.
The automatic enrichment of archiving objects with descriptive metadata was developed on the basis of the implemented connection of TIB’s digital preservation system to the Gemeinsamer Verbundkatalog (Union Catalogue, GVK) of the Common Library Network (GBV). The necessary licencing agreements are to be extended accordingly.
VZG and TIB will be available for questions from 10:00 to 12:00 on Wednesday, 16 March 2016 at the VZG stand (Level 1 K02) during the 6th Library Congress in Leipzig.
