EHFG board elections – Clemens Martin Auer takes over as President of European Health Forum Gastein
European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) board is pleased to announce the election of Dr Clemens Martin Auer, Director General at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health and Women’s Affair, as President of the EHFG for a five-year mandate.
19 June 2017, Bad Hofgastein - European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) board is pleased to announce the election of Dr Clemens Martin Auer, Director General at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health and Women’s Affair, as President of the EHFG for a five-year mandate.
Dr Auer, Director General at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health and Women’s Affairs, in thanking the EHFG Board and General Assembly for the trust placed in him, said: “The EHFG is a superb market place of great ideas for health reforms in the EU Member States. My aim is to transform great visions into reality. A regular exchange of best practice examples shall support this endeavour. I am looking forward to the new tasks and the cooperation with the experienced EHFG secretariat.”
Dr Helmut Brand, the outgoing EHFG President and Jean Monnet Professor of European Public Health at Maastricht University, stated: “I am proud to have steered a number of major strategic developments at the EHFG, such as the increased focus on content and making sure all currently relevant European health policy topics determined the agenda of each conference. It was a pleasure working for the EHFG and having contributed to its success. I would like to thank all those who accompanied and supported me during my presidency. It is with great confidence that I hand over my position to Dr Clemens Martin Auer, who has been involved as a board member for a long time and will be a great added value for the organisation.”
The General Assembly and the EHFG Secretariat thank Prof Brand for his service to the organisation, and wish him well in his future endeavours. Dorli Kahr-Gottlieb, EHFG Secretary General: “Now in its 20th year, the EHFG has grown into a key annual event. We have made major strides in forging a role for EHFG as an independent health policy platform under Prof Brand’s presidency and we look forward to growing our reputation further under Dr Auer’s leadership.”
Member of the European Parliament Karin Kadenbach continues as Vice-President of the EHFG. The conference celebrates its 20th anniversary from 4 to 6 October 2017 in Bad Hofgastein, Austria, under the main theme of “Health in All Politics – a better future for Europe”.
