WHU appoints Professor Dr. Marko Reimer
Düsseldorf/Vallendar, May 3, 2018. On May 1, 2018, Professor Dr. Marko Reimer joined the faculty of WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He has been appointed Professor for Management Accounting and Control. At the same time, Professor Dr. Reimer was named Director of the Institute for Management and Controlling (IMC) at WHU. In this role, he will be part of the management team joining Professor Dr. Utz Schäffer and Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Weber.
“In Professor Dr. Marko Reimer, we are delighted to have gained a long-standing, valued member of the WHU community and a proven management expert, for the Professorship for Management Accounting and Control,” the Dean of WHU, Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf, pointed out. Professor Dr. Reimer has been teaching at WHU since 2012, where to date he has been Assistant Professor for Management Accounting and Control. He has also taught at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg since 2014.
Professor Dr. Reimer studied industrial engineering with a focus on strategic management at the Technical University of Berlin, where he then received his doctorate on the topic of “Management Accountants as Advisors for Top Managers: A Behavioral Analysis Based on the Judge-Advisor-System.” He was a guest researcher at IMD – International Institute for Management Development (Switzerland) and at Newcastle Business School (Australia).
Professor Dr. Reimer’s research focuses on the influence of top managers on strategy formulation and implementation in organizations, and the role of controllers and management control systems in the strategy process. His research work has been published in leading international journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics and Organization Studies.
