In the general THE World University Ranking, Jacobs University had already been able to position itself as one of the 300 best universities worldwide. No other private university in Germany performed better. At the same time, Jacobs University is the most international university in Germany according to the ranking. The more than 1400 students at Jacobs University come from 111 countries, around 80 percent moved to Germany for their studies.
The THE rankings belong to the most respected university rankings in the world. They are based on 13 indicators from the fields of research, teaching, knowledge transfer to industry, international orientation and publications in professional journals. 751 universities participated in the ranking for life sciences and 963 universities for physical sciences. The latter covers subjects such as physics, mathematics, chemistry and geology.
"As a university with an international and interdisciplinary character, we closely link research and teaching and place high demands not only on ourselves but also on our students. The current THE Ranking confirms that we are on the right track. It impressively demonstrates our efficiency and the quality of our services, which are due to the commitment and passion of our employees and students," emphasizes University President Prof. Dr. Michael Hülsmann.
