International workshop on top management research – panel discussion on 7 June at 9 a.m.
Passau’s management researchers Professor Andreas König and Dr Lorenz Graf-Vlachy have managed to bring a particularly high-quality workshop series on top management research to Germany: on 6 and 7 June, leading academics from the field of top management research will be coming to the University of Passau for the tenth EIASM Workshop on Top Management Teams and Business Strategy Research. Alongside the University of Passau, the workshop is being co-organised by the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM), a scientific network based in Brussels.
“I am delighted that we have been able to bring this fantastic workshop to Passau”, said Professor Andreas König, holder of the Chair of Strategic Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. “Participants will include many of the best researchers from all over the world specialising in this field.” Dr. Lorenz Graf-Vlachy, co-organiser and Lecturer under Professor König’s Chair, added: “This workshop also represents a huge opportunity for early career researchers: everyone – from doctoral students to professors – will have a chance to present their work. This creates a very constructive atmosphere, and offers an opportunity for all to give a decisive boost to their own research.”
The workshop will be held in English on 6 and 7 June in Room 017 of the University of Passau’s IT Centre. Selected researchers from all over the world have been invited. The English-language panel discussion on Friday 7 June from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Room 017 of the IT Centre will also offer an insight into “Strategic Management in Unstable Times”. Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the panel discussion and subsequent specialist events.
The panel will include:
• Professor Tine Buyl, Assistant Professor of Organization Studies, Tilburg University, the Netherlands
• Professor Albrecht Enders, Professor of Strategy and Innovation and Dean of Programs and Innovation, IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland
• Professor Donald Hambrick, PhD, Evan Pugh Professor and Smeal Chaired Professor of Management, Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University, USA
• Professor Bolko von Oetinger, Honorary Professor of Strategic Corporate Planning, WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt
• Presenter: Professor Andreas König, holder of the Chair of Strategic Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, University of Passau
There will be a festive end to the workshop on the Friday evening: at 5:45 p.m. in the presence of President Professor Jungwirth, the University of Passau’s School of Business, Economics and Information Systems will award an honorary doctorate to Professor Donald C. Hambrick during a gala concert at Neuburg Castle.
