In June 2019, School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE) of Steinbeis University has been awarded membership of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). AACSB is one of the world's most important and reputable accreditation agencies. As early as 1919, three years after its foundation, it defined binding standards for teaching in economics.
With this new membership, following system accreditation by FIBAA in April 2019, SIBE aims to expand its international partnerships. In doing so, it is expanding its quality network and underscoring the high quality standards it places on its own teaching and research in an international context.
In addition to universities and other educational institutions, AACSB also includes associations and organisations whose activities focus on promoting higher education in the fields of economics and management. Besides the exchange among each other, members of the AACSB benefit from the network in the context of international conferences and events.
Membership in the AACSB is the first prerequisite for accreditation by the agency in the future. Institutions can apply for that after a longer membership and active participation in the organisation. Throughout Germany only ten institutions bear the AACSB accreditation seal, a seal of quality that SIBE also strives for with its membership. SIBE is looking forward to become involved in this renowned international community from this point forward.
