Conference #LiteratureArchiveOfTheFuture on 26 October
The conference #LiteratureArchiveOfTheFuture – which builds on the DLA conference #LiteraturarchivDerZukunft in spring 2021 – brings together panels of international scholars and writers, many of whom are familiar with the Deutsches Literaturarchiv through their own work. All of them are interested in the question (to paraphrase Schiller): What does it mean to maintain a literature archive in the 21st century?
On 26 October 2021, figures from the fields of culture and research will be discussing the international archive of the future; among them are Dmitri Bak, Ibou Diop, Stephen Enniss, Lavinia Frey, Jeang-Yean Goak, Ben Hutchinson, Rémi Jaccard, David Kim, Nathalie Léger, Stefan Litt, B. Venkat Mani, Nelson Mlambo, Sebastian Möhring, Fred Studemann, Meike Werner, Katja Wiesbrock and Sandra Richter.
Literature is not limited to the boundaries of its geographical or linguistic origins, even though literature archives are usually dedicated to writers of a particular nation state, region, or language area. How can we reconceptualize and develop literature archives within their global contexts – for literature, its audiences, and for research? To what extent does digitization promote international cooperation among archives, their users, and cooperation partners?
