Honoring innovative research activities in viticulture and horticulture that have helped to advance the two disciplines
In 2008, the Rudolf Hermanns Foundation initiated a prize for outstanding final theses of Geisenheim students graduating in Viticulture, Enology and Horticulture. The prize of up to 12,500 euros is awarded every second year to recognize exceptional academic achievements and promote future research projects.
The prize is awarded to individuals or teams for their innovative research projects that have made or have the potential to make an outstanding contribution in the field of viticulture and horticulture.
Individuals or teams from the European Union and neighboring countries may submit their applications by June 30, 2022. Institutions such as universities, research centers or scientific journals may also nominate candidates. The Rudolf Hermanns Foundation based at Hochschule Geisenheim University has a capital stock of 750,000 euros and awards prizes since 1991. Applications from junior scientists are particularly encouraged.
