Success for the Zurich Dance Academy at the Prix de Lausanne
Tsukino Tanaka (17) and Yasemin Kayabay (15), students of the Zurich Dance Academy (taZ), received multiple awards at the Prix de Lausanne.
Tsukino Tanaka from Japan and Yasemin Kayabay from Turkey convinced the international jury at the Prix de Lausanne (January 31 to February 6, 2022) with their classical and modern variations. Tsukino Tanaka won the prize "Best Swiss Candidate" as well as the scholarship No. 2 of the Fondation Caris. The scholarship allows Tanaka to train at a partner company of her choice for one year and covers all expenses. Yasemin Kayabay from Turkey received the "Audience Favourite Prize."
The Prix de Lausanne was established in 1973 and has since served as a springboard for aspiring professional classical dancers from around the world. A total of 70 selected candidates participated in the 50th edition of the competition, 20 of whom reached the finals.
Performances in Zurich and Winterthur
The solo variations of Tsukino Tanaka and Yasemin Kayabay can be seen at the gala performance "fussspuren XVIII" of the Zurich Dance Academy on June 25 and 26, 2022 at the Theatre Winterthur and on July 9, 2022 at the Zurich Opera House.
