Networking and concrete projects: COMPAMED 2022 connected international medical technology players
COMPAMED once again proved its status as the world's leading marketplace for medical technology processes and components: Nearly 700 international companies from the medical suppliers industry provided comprehensive information on technology trends and future potential in Halls 8a and 8b.
COMPAMED, which once again took place in synergy with the medical technology trade fair MEDICA in Düsseldorf from November 14 to 17, showcased the portfolio of components and processes for digitized and mobile medical devices for diagnostics and therapy.
Miniaturized high-tech solutions for medical technology were showcased at the trade show's largest joint booth, presented by the IVAM Microtechnology Network. In addition to miniaturized components, optics and precision technology, 47 exhibitors from nine nations presented sensors, actuators and sensor systems, micropumps, coatings, smart textiles, as well as manufacturing and processing methods and technical services at the joint area.
Miniaturization enables digitalization, mobility and energy efficiency of medical technology
The digitalization of medical technology devices and processes remains highly topical. The field of application for smart sensor technology is gaining enormous importance in the wake of social challenges such as the shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare sector. Wearables - portable and networked devices that monitor vital signs or medication and transmit and evaluate data are an important step on the way to digitalized medicine and improved options in the area of inpatient and home care. The topic was present both at the product market and at the forum within the framework of various sessions.
International contacts between users and manufacturers were in focus
For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the networking opportunities for establishing contacts were offered again and were very successfully. International cooperation and business initiation were very present overall at COMPAMED and the parallel MEDICA this year. "In particular, the synergy effect between the trade fairs was rated particularly positively this year. Many MEDICA exhibitors came to COMPAMED as interested customers. In particular, the specialist forum in Hall 8a and the networking events were points of contact here. The companies are also pleased about the high level of internationality and rate the quality of contacts as very promising," reports IVAM Managing Director Dr. Thomas R. Dietrich.
COMPAMED HIGH-TECH Forum set impulses for the industry
The forum accompanying the trade fair is regarded as an international meeting point for experts and was again very well received by visitors this year: More than 1300 trade show visitors attended the 62 presentations on all four days of the show. A highlight of the forum was the all-day internationalization session "Europe meets USA - High-Tech for Medical Devices", which was meant to intensify cooperation in the field of medical technology between component manufacturers, equipment manufacturers and users from Europe and the USA. Especially the, partly personal, motivation and development stories of the presented innovations aroused great interest among the audience. During the subsequent networking, discussions between experts from medical practice, product development and basic technological research were deepened and follow-up meetings were arranged.
Demand at pre-pandemic level
The exhibiting companies and institutes of the IVAM joint area were again highly satisfied with the visitors of COMPAMED. A majority of exhibitors rated the quality of leads as "good" or "excellent". A number of companies have already made reservations directly on site for a renewed participation in 2023.
