How the arts do research: "Research Day" at the ZHdK
Media release. On 28 February 2023, the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) will open its doors to the public. The focus will be on current research projects.
How does research take shape in the context of the arts, education and design? The "Research Day" at the Zurich University of the Arts provides answers to this question: tours of the research locations offer insight into ongoing research projects. A book café set up especially for the day invites you to browse. The Research Slam gets to the heart of complex issues.
Whether in the form of virtual realities, exhibitions or publications, ZHdK research finds many forms of expression. On 28 February, interested parties can enter into dialogue with researchers from the ZHdK's total of nine research units. "Locating our activities and projects in the broad field of both artistic, artistic-scientific and scientific research not only allows for an enormously fruitful exchange with and among each other, it also holds the still great opportunity to fundamentally define this field from the arts, design and mediation and to expand a historically established understanding of research," says Andreas Vogel, who is responsible for this year's "Research Day" as Director of the Department of Cultural Analysis and Mediation. "We are looking forward to this showcase, which as a discursive format will hopefully generate new synapses within the university and with external partner:s."
