“Open Up – Strategien für die Digitalisierung der Hochschullehre in Niedersachsen“ on 20 and 21 June 2023 in Hanno
The two-day conference of the Lower Saxony OER portal twillo will focus on open, digital teaching materials
Digitisation in education is now a widely discussed topic throughout society. With the two-day conference “Open Up – Strategies for the Digitisation of University Teaching in Lower Saxony“ (https://events.tib.eu/twillo2023), the OER portal twillo (https://www.twillo.de) promotes the sharing and networking of players in the field of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practice (OEP).
The opening of the conference will be given by Falko Mohrs, Lower Saxony's Minister for Science and Culture, with a welcome address. Interested parties are cordially invited to attend on 20 and 21 June 2023 on site at Leibnizhaus in Hannover or to connect easily online.
“It is a great pleasure for me to open the conference together with the Minister and thereby offer the topic of digitisation of university teaching a great platform,“ says Prof. Dr. Sören Auer, Director of TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology. “With twillo, we have built a great portal for OER in Lower Saxony where teachers can find and openly share educational materials. The support and services that go beyond the infrastructure are diverse and we are pleased that twillo is entering a second funding phase. At the conference, we would like to discuss experiences from the past years together and are looking forward to new impulses from the community.“
With the conference, twillo wants to create an understanding for the challenges of digitisation and to promote the discourse on general conditions and initiatives for the opening of digital teaching materials. In addition, the conference offers opportunities for networking and exchange, for example at the conference dinner, which will take place on the first evening of the conference.
The programme‘s main topics
• Strategies for the digitisation of university teaching
• Openness – incentives and framework conditions for more openness in research and teaching
• Technologies and infrastructures for a networked educational world
The contributions vary from keynotes, to panel discussions, to a look into practice.
The event will take place in a hybrid format: All programme contributions are made available online and will be recorded. With this event, twillo addresses multipliers, the decision-making level and university teachers.
Since spring 2020, twillo has been online at https://www.twillo.de and was set up jointly by the TIB, the E-Learning Academic Network Niedersachsen (ELAN e. V.), the HIS Institute for Higher Education Development, the Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences, the University of Osnabrück and Stud.IP. The joint project is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK).
Participation in the conference is free of charge.
