Leuphana is one of the world's 100 best young universities
In the "Times Higher Education Young University Ranking" published yesterday (Monday), Leuphana University Lüneburg is ranked 73 out of 963 universities included in the evaluation and is one of the 10 percent best universities worldwide that are younger than 50 years old. This makes it one of only seven German universities represented in the ranking and the only university from northern Germany among the TOP 100. The Times Higher Education (THE) ranking is one of the most important international university comparisons. It is based on differentiated evaluations in the five categories teaching, research, citations, internationality and knowledge transfer.
The ranking of the British magazine "Times Higher Education" asks academics worldwide about the reputation of universities in research and teaching. In addition, data such as citations, the supervision ratio of teachers and students and the third-party funds raised are evaluated. If you look at the frequency with which publications by academics are cited, Leuphana is clearly at the top of the list among German universities.
University President Sascha Spoun was delighted: "The current ranking is further proof that Leuphana has arrived in the international academic landscape and is being recognised. The particularly high rate of citations speaks for the successful work of our academics."
According to the current THE Young University Ranking, the best young university is Nanyang Technological University from Singapore. The best German university in an international comparison is the University of Potsdam, in 22nd place.
