ITRI-Chairman visits Fraunhofer IZM
High-ranking visitor from Taiwan: Prof. Tsung-Tsong Wu, Chairman of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), met with the Institute Director, Prof. Ulrike Ganesh, and representatives of the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD) at Fraunhofer IZM on August 27, 2024. The meeting focused on the strategic direction and future cooperation between the two leading research institutes.
The research institutes Fraunhofer IZM and ITRI play important roles in advancing semiconductor technology in Germany and Taiwan, making significant contributions to global microelectronics development. As Taiwan seeks to collaborate with like-minded countries to optimize its technological capacity, the partnership between Fraunhofer IZM and ITRI offers invaluable opportunities for driving innovations, enhancing social impact and helping to preserve the environment. Not to the least, electronics innovation as developed by the institutes are promoting the integration of technology and art.
Since 1998, Fraunhofer IZM and ITRI have maintained a strong collaborative partnership, consistently engaging in shared activities and joint initiatives. Now, both organizations are set to further their collaboration in advancing emerging fields like AI, power electronics, and photonic systems. By leveraging the joint strengths in semiconductor manufacturing and packaging, along with key technologies such as Gen AI and GreenICT, the collaboration is expected to create novel applications and accelerate industrial development.
As trustable and like-minded partners, ITRI and Fraunhofer IZM will continue to work closely together and strengthen international connections, fostering mutual growth and setting the stage for future technological breakthroughs.
