Licensed to Act: Scientific conference shows the developments of AI and Economics in June 2026
The Economic Perspective on Artificial Intelligence (EPEAI) conference will take place on June 16–17, 2026, at the University of Salford in Manchester. Co-organized by the University of Applied Sciences Ruhr West (Germany), the conference explores the economic implications of artificial intelligence. The call for papers is open until January 31, 2026. The call for poster presentations closes on April 30, 2026.
The year 2025 was proclaimed the year of the agents. In 2026 AI agents will come to market and continue to shape economic processes. AI is “licensed to act” now.
The Economic Perspective on Artificial Intelligence (EPEAI) conference addresses these profound transformations. It will take place on June 16 and 17, 2026 at the University of Salford, Manchester and is co-organized by the University of Applied Sciences Ruhr West in Germany.
Call for papers
The call for papers is open until January 31, 2026 and invites contributions from a broad range of perspectives. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, generative AI (GenAI) and entrepreneurship, decision-making and organizations, controlling and finance, labour markets, economic policy and regulation.
Following successful conferences in Muelheim an der Ruhr, Germany (2023), and Johannesburg, South Africa (2024), researchers from economics, computer science and related disciplines are invited to participate in Manchester in summer 2026.
