Ernst & Young (EY) and ESMT expand collaboration
- EY Chair in Governance and Compliance extended
- EY supports Executive MBA track “Managing Business Integrity”
- ESMT and EY holding joint Governance Conference on October 17
ESMT European School of Management and Technology and Ernst & Young (EY) have strengthened their cooperation. In addition to the continuation of the EY Chair in Governance and Compliance at ESMT and the joint creation of the focus “Managing Business Integrity” within the ESMT Executive MBA (EMBA) program, the two institutions will co-host the Governance Conference at ESMT in October.
Jörg Rocholl, President of ESMT, will continue to hold the EY Chair in Governance and Compliance. The chair was founded in July 2010 at the international business school in Berlin. EY and ESMT are also cooperating to create a new academic focus on “Managing Business Integrity,” which ESMT is offering within its Executive MBA program from October of this year. Participants will gain insights into the areas of integrity management, compliance, corporate governance, and forensics.
On October 17, 2013 ESMT and EY are holding the half-day Governance Conference, at which renowned academics and experts will discuss the factors necessary for successful corporate governance. Conference participants will consider good corporate governance from three perspectives: leadership and management, benchmarking and evaluation, and communication and representation. Speakers and presenters include Joachim Faber (Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Deutsche Börse AG), Manuela Mackert (CCO, Deutsche Telekom AG), Matthias Gruessing (CFO, Zentis Food Solutions North America LLC) and Alexander Güttler (CEO, komm.passion GmbH). Andreas Suchanek of the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management will wrap up the conference with a keynote on the “(added) value of ethics.”
Georg Graf Waldersee, Managing Partner at Ernst & Young (EY) Germany, said, “There is a great need for further research and teaching in the area of governance and compliance, as not just the current financial crisis has shown. It is therefore important for us to strengthen our collaboration with ESMT at many different levels.”
“We are delighted to expand our partnership with EY,” said Catalina Stefanescu-Cuntze, Dean of Faculty at ESMT. “The continuation of the EY Chair in Governance and Compliance at ESMT will allow us to gain further essential research insights in the fields of governance and compliance.”
