Europe 2024 has voted | What does it mean for European Union external relations?

In a changing geopolitical landscape, Europe needs a globally thinking and internationally open Commission to navigate effectively. The new Commission should align its policies with the United Nations' Agenda 2030 and reinforce key initiatives to strengthen the EU's position on the world stage. Central initiatives include the Global Gateway initiative, the Team Europe Initiative, and the Green Deal. In contrast, focusing only on migration and economic self-interest would pander to the interests of right-wing populist parties and threaten the European project.
